Residential Care

...an environment that is stimulating, nurturing and homely...

On 10th-12th May 2022, our Residential Provision was inspected by Ofsted under the Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF) and received an overall judgment of ‘Outstanding’.

The residential provision provides places for pupils between the ages of 10 and 20. The school offers residential placements from Monday to Thursday during term time. The school has five boarding houses, which are located within the grounds of the school. These can accommodate up to twenty-two residential pupils.

We aim to ensure that every young person fulfils their potential; our care and support is student focused and a suitably qualified staff team delivers high quality support in an environment that is stimulating, nurturing and homely; which promotes social, emotional, and academic development.

Residential staff work closely with the education and therapeutic staff to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach. Each student is allocated a key worker who will work with the student to identify areas of need in order to design and deliver individual care plans that will support the students achieve their personal goals/objectives.

Residential students are encouraged to undertake activities as part of a group or individually. The residential students have access to the school facilities during the evening including the school gym, swimming pool and tennis courts; there is also a purpose-built Youth Club which has a pool table, PCs, cinema screen, TV, and games consoles.

Off-site activities vary but may include go-karting, cinema, theatre, clubs/classes (e.g., scouts, cadets, dance, ceramics etc.). We have also hosted “Graffiti” workshops and bush craft workshops on-site. We are really proud of our residential provision and students who are fortunate enough to access it, really enjoy it and progress very well.
