Stuart Crookshank OBE (Chair of Trustees)
Stuart has been a Trustee at West Heath since nearly the beginning and is proud to be a small part of its continuing success. The Trustee body is an enthusiastic and committed group of wise people who, together with the Senior Leadership Team, make a significant contribution to the appropriate and proper governance of the School and the West Heath Centre.
Stuart is now retired from his day job; he was a Customs Officer for over 39 years and also worked in the Charities Commission. In his spare time Stuart works as a River Baliff. Stuart and his wife have lived near Tunbridge Wells for over 20 years and he very much looks forward to being part of the School’s continuing success story.

Glen is a Correspondent for BBC TV Current Affairs & Documentaries. Working mainly for programmes like Inside Out and Panorama he specialises in investigative journalism and home affairs issues. Not that he would care to repeat the experience, but one claim to fame he holds is being the first British journalist to be shot with the 50,000 volt Taser stun-gun whilst filming with the LAPD in Los Angeles.
Born and bred in Surrey and a proud product of the state education system he now lives just across the Kent border in Sussex. Married with three young children. Glen sits on the Student Services Committee.
“ I was raised on a farm at Sundridge , went to Walthamstow Hall school in Sevenoaks, qualified as a Dentist from London University. I have lived , worked and brought up my two daughters in this area .I joined the Trustees over ten years ago as I am concerned for children who are unable to stay in the standard system, whose life chances may be damaged by their being unable to continue education and to develop their ability and potential. Now retired ,I am involved in community activities as a Councillor and in U3A. I play golf , enjoy travel and being involved with my 2 grandchildren.”
Don has been a Trustee at West Heath School for almost two years. He is an accountant by profession and serves on the school’s Finance Committee. Don is now retired but prior to this was the Managing Director of Hyde Park Residence Ltd, a company based in Mayfair letting 5 Star residential apartments.
Leigh is an architect by profession and now runs the family business which includes farm, forestry and property management. He has been a Trustee since May 2014 and serves on the Health and Safety committee.
Leigh is married with two children and has lived on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells for over 20 years, in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and competing in triathlons for his local club. Leigh has most recently represented Great Britain in the World Sprint Triathlon Championships in Mexico.
Pauline Knutton – Named Safeguarding
I started as a Teaching Assistant at the school not long after it first opened. At that time we had less than thirty students and half the school was unusable. I developed along with the school and am very proud to have played my part in improving the lives and opportunities of so many young people. Having taken early retirement eighteen moths ago, I now able to spend more time with my own children and Grandchildren but have welcomed the opportunity to become involved with the school once more as a trustee.
Nishka is an accountant by profession and has worked in senior finance roles in both Commerce and the Charity sector. Committed to driving a positive social impact, she now works as a freelance consultant solely within the third sector. Nishka is married with a young daughter, and in her spare time enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and when time allows it, running. She is passionate about the opportunity and freedom that education can provide and is proud to support West Heath as a member of the Trustee Board and Finance Committee.
Andy is an Accountant by profession and is the finance director for Hyde Park Residence Ltd, a company in Mayfair letting 5 star residential apartments. Married for 25 years with two grown up daughters. He attends as a Trustee on behalf of the Principal Benefactor and the Landlord ACF Sevenoaks, to monitor that the school’s financial stability and its obligations under the terms of the lease, are maintained.
Dougal has been Headmaster of Solefield School in Sevenoaks since 2006. Prior to this he taught in both senior and prep schools, including a spell as resident housemaster at the Dragon School in Oxford. He is an experienced school inspector and appraiser of staff and senior leadership teams. Dougal is married with two sons and in his spare time enjoys keeping fit, playing the guitar and dabbling in ultra-running. He is proud to be part of the Trustees body taking West Heath forward into the next stage of its development.
